Why?
You and I both know that words have power. A rightly-picked mouthful is delicious, a well-crafted sentence nourishing. Yet in this world of access and excess, it can be difficult to find your voice and make it count.
As a toddler, I was a story fanatic, carrying around books like they were dolls. Before I was a teenager, I was a published author when my favorite magazine printed my written words. In college and grad school, I was a learner, looking out for beauty in unassuming places.
Now, I throw myself wholeheartedly into telling a good story with my life and helping others to do the same.
My Creative Zones
Copywriter
Short statements are my specialty. I know that simplicity can pack a punch. Shaping stories so they hit the reader right where it counts is a challenge I never refuse.
Content developer
Creative ideas are nothing unless acted upon. With a curiosity that makes learning fun, a respect for deadlines and details, an awe for how images and words can partner together, and a passion for the big picture, I spend my days making content come to life.
Journalist/Writer
Writing will always be my first love in the area of communications. From the time I was 12, I knew it was a skill I had in me and I've pursued it hardcore ever since. Interning for a magazine, conducting plenty of interviews, working for a publishing house, and wracking up bylines; my experience in this area speaks for itself.
Teacher
Teaching gives me a rush like nothing else. I come alive when helping others become the best versions of themselves that they can be. Learning is one of my favorite things, so I want to share what I’ve learned with others whenever I can. I’ve spent time facilitating discussion groups and leading workshops both in and outside of work.
Director/Leader
Recently, I’ve had more opportunities to lead communications efforts. I can juggle a variety of details at once without losing sight of the main goals. I thrive on helping teams show up and add value. I fully believe one of the best parts of my past work experience is walking alongside people as they discover and use their own voices.
